Humble Beginnings
It started with a vision of wanting to help the underserved in our communities, - the addicts, the homeless, those who have paid their debts to society and yet their community was still unwilling to forgive their mistakes. We believe in second chances. We believe in new beginnings. We believe people can change. We were looking for a way to help facilitate that change in a healthy and supportive way - and so The Nova Residence was born.
Stemming from the Latin word novus, Nova means "new". It speaks perfectly to what we hope to accomplish at The Nova Residence. Giving new life to those who need it. Giving new purpose to those who are newly sober. Giving new skills to those who never learned them.
More than just your traditional sober living home or transition house, our vision for The Nova Residence is to be a safe environment where our guests can re-learn how to live a clean and sober lifestyle while being an active member of society - a place where family dinners, shared chores, communal living and common goals can foster open communication and a sense of belonging in their community.
The Martin House
Finding the perfect home seemed impossible. It needed to be warm and inviting, clean without feeling sterile, and close to the supportive services our guests would require. Serendipitously, we found The Martin House - 440 Martin St, Twin Falls, ID. Martin was the father of one of our founders and one of many driving forces in the vision of The Nova Residence. He endured a lifelong struggle with addiction before succumbing to the elements during a period of homelessness. The house wasn't clean. It wasn't warm or inviting, but it was perfectly situated. And like we said, we believe in second changes and new beginnings. After an extensive remodel, The Martin House, our flagship home, is now ready to take in it's first guests.
